Project Description:
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Engineering District 5-0 (PennDOT) is partnering with Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to improve the SR 248 intersection in western Bath, Northampton County. This project involves realigning SR 248 from W. Main Street onto Northampton Street and reconnecting Old Forge Drive to the new alignment. Improvements include full depth pavement reconstruction and ADA compliant pedestrian facilities. The proposed condition will provide better turning radii for the large trucks at Northampton Street and lessen some of the turning movements at the Chestnut Street intersection. Improvements to the W. Northampton Street crossing of Monocacy Creek are also included.
