The report will be consistent with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and Guidelines for Identification (46 FR 44720-23), the State Historic Preservation Office’s Guidelines for Archaeological Investigations (July 2017), and PennDOT’s The Transportation Project Development Process: Cultural Resources Handbook, Publication 689 (March 2013) while also taking into account the National Park Service’s publication The Archaeological Survey: Methods and Uses (1978: GPO). |

The data recovery or alternative mitigation plan will be submitted to the FHWA, the SHPO, interested Tribes & Nations, and other consulting parties, as appropriate, for their review and/or comment. The review period will be thirty (30) days. |

The public information materials should explain the purpose of the Project and the significance of the excavation of eligible sites. PennDOT shall consult with the FHWA, SHPO, interested Tribes & Nations, and other consulting parties, on the proposed public information materials and will provide a draft of any public information materials to the FHWA, SHPO, interested Tribes & Nations, and other consulting parties, for their review and/or comment prior to the finalization of the materials. The review period will be thirty (30) days. |
